I Hope It Was Worth It

To the idiot who caused the wreck at 635 and the Toll Road this morning: I hope you are enjoying your day.

I hope that your misguided zeal to shave a couple of minutes off your commute (which all of us were patiently enduring, by the way, until you decided you'd rather own a 2000 pound accordion) was worth the multiple hours missed from work you caused all of your fellow travelers to incur.

I also hope that while I was trying to explain why my scheduled phone call was postponed for 30 minutes, you were trying to explain to your insurance agent why it wasn't your fault. Because both are futile gestures.
