Not anything deep or anything - but I'm currently caught up in a little musical circle where the same musicians keep coming up.

Here's how it currently plays out:

One of my favorite bands is Rilo Kiley. Duh. So,we'll start there.

RK was founded by Blake Sennett and Jenny Lewis.

Blake has a side band, The Elected, who will be playing in Denton on March 16th.

Jenny just released a solo album and will be playing in Dallas on March 29th.

The Watson Twins got co-billing on Jenny's cd and are touring with her. They were introduced to Jenny through Blake.

Jenny also sings with The Postal Service, Ben Gibbard's side band when he's not playing with Death Cab for Cutie.

I saw last night that after their Denton gig, The Elected will be touring with another band, The 88. And in May, The 88 will be playing in Dallas, not with The Elected, but with a different artist, Matt Costa.

I checked out Matt Costa last night and he is on the same label and has recorded a song or two with Jack Johnson.

Okay, so the circle isn't exactly complete. Not until Jack Johnson sings with Rilo Kiley, anyway. But it's a pretty cool arc.
