The good side to having insomnia is catching up on movies you ordinarily wouldn't have time for.
I was up at 2:30 this morning. The past couple of weeks, this has been fairly common.
I had recorded a movie called Conspiracy a couple of days ago. It was made in 2001 and is apparently a very historically accurate depiction of the 1942 Wannsee Conference - using most of the official transcript as the basis for the movie script. I knew little about this conference, although I am conversational in WWII matters in general.
As today is Holocaust Remembrance Day, I recommend you catch a future viewing of the movie.
After that was over, I caught most of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Was this just a big practical joke on the entire musical industry perpetuated by The Beatles?
I really want to know - who thought that The BeeGees would be the best people to sing these songs?
The movie, however, did bring back a fond memory from when I was in elementary school. There used to be a used book shop off The Square in San Marcos. It was on the second floor and near a bakery. I went with my mom one day after school and I came across the movie script in book format. I've been listening to The Beatles since birth so I obviously knew about the song and was vaguely aware there was a movie with the same title.
I had to have the book. My mom warned me I would be disappointed if I used my money to buy it.
I guess I should have listened.
Why then, did she not call at 4:30 this morning and tell me to change the channel?
That movie is so laughably horrible.
