There's Nowhere I'd Rather Be...

- Fact of the matter is I can't not watch Mr. & Mrs. Smith (the remake) whenever it is aired, but especially in HD.

It's humorous, well scripted, and well acted. As such, I've watched parts or all of it each weekend for the past couple of months.

Without going into detail, much of the metaphor of the movie is oddly familiar. That's the real reason I watch it so much.

- Last weekend, I arrived at our regular Friday night restaurant a few minutes before everybody else. Nicole and Hilary were in town so that was a fun surprise.

Anyway, I settled for a place at the bar where I could view soccer on one television and Stump the Schwab on the other television.

I'm more a Schwab kind-of-guy vis-a-vis Ken Jennings.

One look at Jennings and you know he's smart; Schwab is a slob.

Jennings had to read too many books about too many subjects to amass all his knowledge; Schwab only had to sit on his couch and watch sports all day.

I'd take that job.

- Life is funny.

Yesterday was a horrible day for me. Nothing bad happened, but enough temporary and inconvenient moments conspired to create a day I wish I could have spent under covers: a car that didn't start in the morning, narrowly averting what could have been a major collision (I saw my tire tracks this morning - very impressive), a meeting that lasted until 7:00, etc., etc.

Today has been a terrific day. Again, a lot of temporary and insignificant moments, but they all landed on the other side of yesterday's coin.

- Every once in a while, little sayings pop in my head and seem even more profound than ever before.

The immortal words of Chocolate Thunder have stayed in my head since Monday morning:

"When everything is said and done, there's nothing left to say or do."
