A little less than a full decade ago, I had been on my first post-collegiate job for about three weeks. I was the first-hire of a newly created four-person department.

Nine years ago today, my boss told me that the newest hire was going to come in and fill out some paperwork before she officially started the next week; her name was Melissa.

Melissa and I chatted for a little bit. She was cute but the last thing I wanted to do was date somebody I worked with.

Several months down the road, we started dating. Several months after that, we got engaged.

Through our employment, we worked side by side for several years.

Through a series of miracles and several acts of charity (few of them mine), we're still working side by side.

Her style is new but the face is the same as it was so long ago,
