Lunar Eclipse, 20 February 2008

Yesterday evening was the only total lunar eclipse of 2008 and the last until 21 December 2010; it was a true treat to view. Additionally, the moon was flanked on top by Regulus in Leo and to its bottom left by Saturn.

While the eclipse's totality lasted about 51 minutes, actual viewing only lasted approximately 15. The rest of the time, the moon was hidden behind dark clouds that brought steady rain during the night.

While I cannot take credit for the photo, it offers the same view from my backyard.
