Let Sleepings Dogs Lie

Tonight has been a rather quiet night, all things considered.

Melissa's friend from college, Sybil, and her husband, Terry, are in town tonight. This is the friend that organized the whole Whirlyball fiasco several months ago. This time, however, we chose to have quiet dinner. I didn't get home from work until a little later than usual so I was especially hungry for some good Mexican. We go to a good place down the road where I've become overly dependent on their chile relleno. It's quite delectable.

The thing about eating dinner with Sybil and Melissa is that dinner is regularly interrupted by the cell phone. So, they were called out to a piano bar with Faith and Michael (Melissa's and Sybil's college friends) and Melissa's brother and sister to celebrate the first leg of Faith's birthday weekend. More excitement will ensue tomorrow, I am told.

I chose the rather quiet night at the house. I have to work tomorrow morning and am trying to do as much work tonight to make tomorrow morning more pleasant. If I prepare enough, maybe I'll be rewarded by being able to watch the Texas/Texas Tech game.

So, I am at the computer watching Alison Kraus on Austin City Limits and listening to my new cd's, and preparing for tomorrow. Oh, and pet-sitting Riley, Sybils and Terry's 4 1/2 month old puppy and Logan. I think both played a bit too much while we were at dinner. Both are at my feet fast asleep happily snoring.

Where I should be pretty soon.
